Peyton Manning and his new contract.

Ever since his days as a Vol at Tennessee Peyton Manning has wowed us with his incredible athletic ability on the football field. But on the 30th of July he caught our attention again with the signing of a 5yr/90 million contract with the Colts, equaling Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. As a four time defending MVP and one time Super Bowl champion surly does deserve what is coming to him. But the third ranked quarterback in passing yards, completions, and touchdowns in NFL history just came off of another neck surgery, his second one in the past 15 months, and he is 35 years old.  In a league of young rising stars Manning won't be able to last much longer. The 18 million dollars a year, for five years  is way too much for a player who might not even be able to make it that long, especially a player with an injured neck. What seems more logical was to sign Manning to a lesser contract, and bring in a new young quarterback, other thank Curtis Painter, to develop over the next couple years under the 14 year veteran. With this big contract signing the Colts just might have signed away their future.
